Paris - France, 16th -20th June, 2008. Social Performance Task Force Meeting was held in World Bank Offices in Paris. The two MDF representatives took part at the meeting related to discussing pilot set of Social Performance Indicators and at SPM Roadmap Workshop.
Warsaw, March 2008 – MDF Representatives participated at the 5 th SPM working group meeting organized by Micro Finance Centre (MFC) from Poland. That was closing meeting of Regional SPM working group, which were formed in the beginning of 2006, with the purpose to initiate SPM introduction into MFIs in several country members. In general, all participants tried to summarize their achievements, as challenges and success factors related to their SPM institutionalization process.
Belgrade, February 06 2008 – Audit Panel following Social Performance Audit was held in order to discuss audit findings. Panel attendants took an active role in the discussion and came to conclusions and actions needed to be implemented in order to improve status and effectiveness of SPM in MDF

Nice, from 08-10 September 2008, was held the 5th EMN Annual Conference organized by European-Microfinance Network - the network of microfinance organizations for the EU countries), with headquarters in Paris. Two representatives of MDF had the honor to attend the Conference and meet with the developments in the sector in EU countries, with accent on different approaches to
microkredit and business development services (BDS) in different countries. An important aspect of our interest related to the legislation of microkredit institutions in different EU countries.
The general impression is that the EMN network rapidly learn about microkredit, and that they intend to apply all the best practices especially from MFC - Network for Eastern Europe. Also, regardless the differences between organizations in different countries, they introduced a more or less BDS elements, which is present especially in France. Although the differences in terms of entry of microkredit are significant, the EU states are directed by the European institutions, primarily the European Commission, to promote microkredit as a good way for employment and to integrate it in the appropriate national programs. There were presented the models of Romania and France considering regulation, operation and results, as well as the tendency of further development in the sector in these two countries.

Conference gathered 429 microfinance stakeholders from 41 countries, including two representatives from MDF.The event was organized in cooperation with XACBANK, one of the leading microfinance banks worldwide.
